This calamity, which unfolded from April 29 to May 2024, has resulted in over 170 fatalities, widespread landslides, and the collapse of a dam, marking it as the worst flooding in Brazil in more than 80 years.

Over half a million individuals have been severely affected, with nearly 100,000 displaced and residing in temporary shelters. These shelters, operated by charities, church communities, and various civil society organizations, are in dire need of resources and support to continue providing aid and relief.
